Bear’s Boomin’ Bakery began with a powerful belief: that everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, contribute, and belong.

Young adults with disabilities have historically faced limited access to meaningful vocational training and employment — not because of a lack of ability, rather a lack of opportunity.

Developed through the dedication of families, staff, and the broader Manhattan Childrens Center community, our bakery provides hands-on training and real-world work experience for MCC students and the wider neurodiverse community to gain greater independence, valuable hands-on training, and meaningful employment opportunities.

We’re more than a bakery. We’re a movement toward inclusion — a place where skills are developed, talents are celebrated, and every individual is seen as capable and essential. Every cookie, recipe, and smiling customer is a symbol of progress — for our students and for the future of inclusive employment.
